This is a rare and special piece of history and artwork.
Originally painted by J.K Defeher a 19th Century Hungarian. it is an optical illusion. Viewed one way it depicts two young people and when viewed another, reveals a grinning scull. The Print was featured and published in the Freemasons Monthly Magazine in July 1862 to raise money for the family of the deceased artist. It was dedicated to the grand Master Thomas Dundas the 2nd Earl of Zetland who was Grand Master of the English Grand Lodge.
These rarely come to the market and one at auction sold for $2,650 on 2023.
